Teen with about a half-ounce of marijuana sniffed out and searched by police and dog team

19-year-old Cameron Bechtold was charged with possession of marijuana for resale intent and drug paraphernalia after a K-9 signal and search of his vehicle yielded a felonious amount of marijuana.

On December 3rd, Clarksville Police Agent Christy Bing made voluntary contact with a silver Hyundai on the roadway near 56 Hillsboro Drive. Cameron Bechtold was in the driver’s seat of the running vehicle as K-9 Officer Weaver detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle had revealed a backpack with suspected illicit contents.

It contained marijuana and a scale, grinder, and bong all with residue. The suspected substance was field tested positive to be 14.175 grams of marijuana. He also had $263.00 on his person. Cameron stated that the backpack and the contents all belonged to him. He also admitted to just smoking inside the vehicle and was taken into custody.

Cameron Bechtold was arrested and charged with marijuana with intent and drug paraphernalia. He has since been released on a $25,000 bond.
