Teen attempts to flee from wreck with ambulance; leaves gun, SUV, green substance, and police behind

19-year-old Kequan Waller was charged with reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana, and driving without a license after an SUV he was driving reportedly struck an ambulance and officers located a leafy substance inside of the vehicle.

On November 17th, Clarksville Police Officer Randy Cox responded to reports of reckless endangerment at a Mapco Mart on 1775 Madison Street. In front of the building, the officer spotted a red SUV get into a traffic accident. The vehicle attempted to make a U-turn, and flee the scene. Officer Cox turned on his emergency lights and watched three men exit the vehicle. They ran from the scene as the officer commanded them to stop.

After a short chase, the officer made contact with Kequan Waller. The SUV was still in drive during the incident and struck an emergency vehicle on Madison Street. The plate of the SUV was checked and traced back to another vehicle. Kequan was found to not have a valid driver’s license, and a black handgun was found inside of his vehicle. The weapon did not appear to be stolen but was taken into evidence.

A jar with a green, leafy substance inside was located on the center console and a part of it came back inconclusive when tested. Other officers located one of the passengers who fled, Bryan Hamilton. Bryan admitted to being a passenger and Kequan admitted to driving the vehicle. He also claimed ownership of the green, leafy substance and the gun.

Kequan Waller was arrested and charged with evading arrest, display of registration plates, reckless endangerment, and driving without a license. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $40,000 bond, and his case was bound over to a Grand Jury.
