Second man charged for involvement in Target theft

31-year-old Zachary Scalf was charged with two counts of property theft and driving on a suspended license after he and his friend, Travis Spicer, filled plastic Target bags with video games and Blu-Ray sets.

On November 9th, Clarksville Police Officer George Goodman responded to a shoplifting call at the Target located at 2823 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. The loss prevention officer for the store reported that 2 males, Zachary Scalf and Travis Spicer, were seen walking into the store with Target shopping bags and stealing multiple videogames and movies. Per Officer Goodman’s report, he arrived as they were driving out of the parking lot and followed behind them until dispatch confirmed that it was the described vehicle. He initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Zachary Scalf. Officer Goodman asked Zachary if they just left Target, to which Zachary said yes. He then asked him where the stolen items were and Zach told him that they were on the passenger floorboard. Zachary and Travis were asked to leave the vehicle and were then detained. The loss prevention officer met with police officers at the scene to confirm all the stolen items. He reportedly also had video footage of Zachary shoplifting in other stores. Their pilfered goods were estimated to be worth $750.

Zachary Scalf was arrested and charged with two counts of theft of property and driving on a suspended license. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
