Repeat offender nearly collides with cop car; found with heroin and meth in vehicle

40-year-old Jodi Van Dyke was charged with possession of meth, simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and improper lane use after nearly colliding with a Sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle on Barton’s Creek Road.

On August 20th, MCSO Deputy Joshua Beck was on routine patrol on Barton’s Creek Road when he observed a white SUV driving toward him in his lane. The SUV suddenly jerked back into the correct lane and Deputy Beck turned around to initiate a traffic stop at the intersection of Barton’s Creek Road and Old Highway 48. He was easily able to identify the driver, Jodi Van Dyke, from past experiences.

She was asked to exit the vehicle and whether there was anything inside the vehicle. Van Dyke told him there were two pipes and meth in the center console. Deputy Beck searched the vehicle and found both of the pipes, 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, and 0.7 grams of heroin. Van Dyke also had multiple small baggies and a license that was suspended in February 2020. She was also cited for driving on a suspended license in May 2020.

Jodi Van Dyke was arrested and charged with possession of meth, simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and improper lane use. Her bond was set at $7,500.
