Relationship beef gets spicy at Taco Bell when boyfriend forgets anniversary on #TacoTuesday

23-year-old Darryl Edward Joseph III was charged with domestic aggravated assault after his girlfriend reported him throwing her around inside his car in the parking lot of Taco Bell where he works.

On October 20th, Clarksville Police Officer Armando Ferreira responded to the precinct where Amelia Kauffman walked in to file a report of domestic violence that took place at Taco Bell on Tiny Town Road. Amelia reportedly went to talk to her boyfriend, Darryl Edward Joseph III, at his work because he had forgotten their anniversary.

According to Amelia, Darryl became upset, would not let her leave, and tried to physically pull her out of the vehicle. He opened her car door and threatened to break it off if she tried to move the vehicle. He then took her keys, picked her up as she tried to run inside, and told her “get in the car.” He started strangling her and throwing her around in the car as she continued screaming and trying to leave. He then gave her her keys and she got into her car and left.

According to Darryl, they did have an argument that day but he did not assault her and only covered her mouth to get her to calm down and stop screaming. Officer Ferreira did note bruises on Amelia’s left arm and determined Darryl to be the primary aggressor.

Darryl Edward Joseph III was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
