Midtown Hills Precinct detectives are investigating Friday night’s fatal shooting of Quinzell Pannell Jr., 23, who was the driver of a Range Rover that crashed into a utility pole at 17th Avenue North at Hayes Street.
According to a witness driving in the opposite direction, they heard a loud “pop” as the Range Rover passed by at 11 p.m. and then crashed. Pannell, of Clarksville, died at the scene. Two handguns and a small amount of marijuana were recovered from the Range Rover. The evidence shows that the gunfire came from inside the vehicle. Two male passengers, one who sustained non-life threatening injuries from the crash, have been interviewed. The investigation is ongoing.
