40-year-old Terry Beavers was charged with aggravated domestic assault and violation of his conditions of release when he slapped his pregnant wife in the face during an argument.
On August 22nd, Officer Kirill Annikov responded to a domestic assault call that occurred on the off-ramp of 101st Airborne Division Parkway. Officer Annikov made contact with Amy Richardson over the phone who said that her friend, Stephanie Beavers, was involved in a domestic altercation. The officer then made contact with Stephanie Beavers in the Walmart parking lot on Whitfield Road. Stephanie advised that she and her husband, Terry Beavers, got into a verbal altercation in their car on their way home from a friend’s house. Stephanie said that Terry had been drinking and he attempted to put the vehicle in park while she was driving causing her to pull over. Terry then attempted to take the key out of the ignition but Stephanie was able to prevent him from grabbing it. She advised that while they struggled for the key, he reached over and slapped her left cheek and immediately after that struck her in the right cheek.
Terry pulled her hand toward him and twisted her arm in an attempt to wrestle the key from her. Officer Annikov reported that Stephanie’s face was swollen and she had a small scratch on her left forearm from the struggle. The officer contacted Terry at their residence, where Terry confirmed they had gotten into an argument but that it was Stephanie who was attempting to leave the vehicle. He stated that he was trying to stop her because she is 34 weeks pregnant.
Terry denied assaulting Stephanie but admitted to consuming alcohol. Officer Annikov determined Terry to be the primary aggressor due to the visible injuries and the statements given by both parties. The system check yielded that Terry Beavers had conditions of release on file with Stephanie as the victim. He violated condition A which prohibits him from committing violence against Stephanie and condition E which prohibits him from consuming alcohol or controlled substances.
Terry Beavers was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault and violation of his conditions of release. His bond was set at $15,000.
