Nashville man strangles his girlfriend in order to stop her from slapping him, per report

48-year-old Jeffery Albea of Nashville was charged with aggravated domestic assault after he reportedly strangled his girlfriend during an argument that escalated until police arrived.

On November 12th, Clarksville Police Department Officer Onfroy responded to 355 Cranklen Circle to do a welfare check after a 911 call was placed but was disconnected. Jocelyn Carter was standing at the front door and had appeared to have a tear-streaked face. According to Officer Onfroy’s report, Jeffery Albea, Carter’s boyfriend was seated nearby.

Carter stated that she and Albea had a verbal disagreement, She had put her hand in front of his face to silence him and turned to walk away when Albea put his hands around her neck in a manner that she could not breathe as the argument continued. Albea told Officer Onfroy that the argument remained verbal and that he placed his hands on Carter from behind to prevent her from punching or slapping him in the face again. The officer’s report stated that Albea admitted that he called 911 after Carter had struck him.

Jeffery Albea was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. He was later released on a $5,000 bond and his case has been bound over to a Grand Jury.
