Mother and daughter’s fight over gambling ends with mom in custody

60-year-old Nisihti Mesghina was charged with domestic assault after she reportedly pushed and kicked her daughter several times during an argument that started over gambling, then ended with discussions about a television being too loud.

On November 17th, Clarksville Police Officer Daniel Smith responded to 876 Gordon Place for a domestic in progress. Officer Smith then made contact with Helen Mesghina, the daughter of Nisihti Mesghina. Helen Mesghina stated that the argument turned physical when she would repeatedly turn off the tv because it was too loud for her to do her work. She stated that during the altercation her mother pushed and kicked her several times, and she also had scratch marks on her arm where Nisihti Mesghina assaulted her. Helen’s story was recounted almost exactly by Nisihti Mesghina when asked, but she left out the detail of kicking her daughter. Nisihti Mesghina was then placed into custody.

Nisihti Mesghina was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Mesghina was released on a $500 bond.
