Man yells “Don’t tell the police!” as he runs from the woman he assaulted

52-year-old Ricky Borders was charged with two counts of domestic assault and vandalism after he kicked in his ex-girlfriend’s front door, physically assaulted her, and stole her cell phone while running away and yelling, “Don’t tell the police!”

On September 17th, Clarksville Police Officer Onfroy responded to the residence of 1582 Bevard Road for an alarm call. At the scene, Lucille Pope told Officer Onfroy that she heard banging on her front door over the volume of her bedroom television. The officer’s report stated that Ricky Border, her ex-boyfriend, kicked in her front door and splintered the door frame. Pope stated that she and Borders began to argue, he pushed her to the hallway, then he went into the bedroom and knocked items out of place. Borders left as the alarm sounded, grabbed Pope’s cellphone, and ran away yelling, “Don’t tell the police!” The officer’s report stated that Borders left an imprint of his shoe sole on Pope’s front steps as he left. Ricky Borders was unable to be reached and a warrant was secured for domestic vandalism and simple assault.

On November 7th, Clarksville Police Department Officer Andrew Ramirez responded to a residence, located at 1582 Bevard Road, in response to a domestic assault. Officer Ramirez spoke with Lucille Pope, who stated that her ex-boyfriend Ricky Borders assaulted her after breaking into her residence. Borders hit Pope in the mouth, left shoulder, and scratched her on her right wrist. According to the affidavit, the officer observed a small cut on Pope’s right wrist and there is a history of domestic assault between the parties.

Ricky Borders was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and vandalism. He is currently being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
