Man slaps and throws girlfriend on the ground when she tries to call 911

36-year-old Joseph Mickle was charged with domestic assault and interfering with an emergency call when he threw his girlfriend on the ground and slapped her in the face when she attempted to call 911.

On September 6th, MCSO Deputy Dennis Morgan was dispatched to 2264 Lock B Road North in response to what started out as a welfare check. While on the way, call takers heard screaming and cussing in the background of the call. E-911 had multiple callback attempts that either went to voicemail or were answered and hung up. Upon arrival, Deputy Morgan found Joseph Mickle holding his girlfriend, Erin Bonner, on the ground.
