28-year-old Martelle Jonquise Black was charged with possession of cocaine, domestic assault, false imprisonment, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault after open hand slapping, pulling a gun, and attempting to kidnap the mother of his children, per report.
On November 14th, Montgomery County Deputy Gallagher responded to a call about a kidnapping located at 930 Dawn Ridge Court. The complainant stated to the authorities that a male, later identified as Martelle Black, showed up at the door of the residence with a gun. The complainant also stated that when he unlocked the door, Black opened it and pushed his way past him. Black then proceeded to confront a female, later identified as Lisa Serna, who’s both the mother of Black’s children and the complainant’s current girlfriend. Upon confronting Serna, Black slapped her with an open hand across the face. The complainant then stepped between the two, when Black then reached into his pants and pulled out a black handgun and stated that he had something to “get you off of me.”
Black then left the scene in a blue Chrysler car after forcing Serna out of the residence and into the vehicle. Shortly after Sergeant Jackson was able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and had conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. As Sergeant Jackson was behind the vehicle, the driver had run out of the vehicle. Officers were able to locate him near the area of Forest Hills Road and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. The driver was confirmed to be Martelle Black. Upon placing Black into custody authorities conducted a search where they found a baggie containing suspected cocaine. The substance, weighing about 8 grams total, was field-tested and produced positive results for cocaine.
Martelle Jonquise Black was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, domestic assault, false imprisonment, aggravated burglary, and aggravated assault. He’s currently jailed in lieu of an $80,000 bond, and his case has been bound to a Grand Jury.
