Man hits wife after coming home angry

42-year-old James Turtle was charged with domestic assault after police say he hit his wife on the side of her head and pulled her around by her shirt.

On December 1st, Clarksville Police Officer Jan Salcedo responded to domestic violence with simple assault at 633 Cleveland Drive. Officers were contacted by the complainant who said that her friend, Robin Tuttle, was being assaulted by her husband, James Tuttle.

When Officer Salcedo arrived, contact was made with Robin, who said that James came home angry because of an argument they had prior. According to the affidavit, she also stated that James struck her on the side of her head. When Officer Salcedo spoke with James, he admitted that he pulled Robin around with her shirt during the argument. Officer Salcedo determined him to be the primary aggressor.

James Tuttle was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $500 bond.
