Man collars brother during dispute over his daughter’s clothing

39-year-old Michael Erwin was charged with domestic assault after he got into a fight with his brother while attempting to do laundry.

On November 3rd, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Turner arrived at the residence of 1149 Hunting Creek Court in response to a 911 hangup call. Upon arrival, Michael Erwin advised he and his brother, Randal Smith, got into an argument. Erwin stated he went to the garage to do his niece’s laundry when Smith pushed him in the chest and started fighting with him.

Michael claimed when he got away from Smith, he tried calling 911. However, his brother disconnected the phone call. Reportedly, Smith claimed Erwin came into the garage when they started arguing and grabbed him by his collar. Smith also reported during their scuffle, he injured his leg. A neighbor advised she believed that Erwin was the aggressor, but she did not witness exactly who started the fight.

Michael Erwin was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $500 bond.
