Man charged after wife tells police he pushed her by throat and called her “wh*re, c*nt, and sl*t”

60-year-old Philip Mason was charged with domestic aggravated assault and violating his conditions of release after his wife reported he cussed her out and threatened to kill her.

On December 6th, Clarksville Police Officer Brandon Doss responded to a domestic aggravated assault at 1218 Talley Drive. When Officer Doss arrived, he made contact with Karen Mason and Philip Mason. Karen stated they had a verbal argument that turned physical. She told officers she bought Philip some liquor, and after he had a couple of shots he began calling her, “whore, cunt, and a slut.”

Karen also reported he threatened to kill her, pushed her against a refrigerator by her throat, and accused her of stealing things from him. Officers noted she did not have any bruising and claimed she never lost consciousness.

When Officer Doss talked to Philip, he stated Karen came home and started yelling at him. He stated she tried to hit him, but he was able to stop her. Officer Doss also noted Philip was very intoxicated and his story became inconsistent. Philip was determined to be the primary aggressor.

Philip Mason was arrested and charged with domestic assault and violation of conditions of release. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $6,000 bond.
