Man charged after officer finds his girlfriend with a cut under her eye

34-year-old Gerard Anderson was charged with domestic assault after he reportedly punched his girlfriend in the face, forced her outside, and left her with a scratch under her eye.

On November 24th, Clarksville Police Officer Jeffery Carnagey responded to a domestic assault call located at 939 South Riverside Drive. Upon arrival, Officer Carnagey made contact with Dawana Thomas. Thomas stated to the officer that her boyfriend, Gerard Anderson, had punched her in the face and proceed to push her out the front door of their apartment. Thomas had a visible scratch under her eye and claimed it came from Anderson during their altercation.

Officer Carnagey had also made contact with Anderson. Anderson stated that he did push Thomas out of their door, however, he never hit her. Based on Thomas’s statement and visible markings, Officer Carnagey deemed Anderson the aggressor and placed him into custody.

Gerard Anderson was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
