Man charged after bashing, strangling, and pinning girlfriend at residence, per report

25-year-old Armond Love was charged with domestic assault after his girlfriend claimed he hit her head into a wall, struck her with a washcloth, strangled her, and pinned her to the ground during an argument.

On December 4th, Clarksville Police Officer Robert Schohn responded to a report of an aggravated assault at the residence of 201 Lexington Drive. When officers arrived, they spoke with Armond Love who stated he was in the bathroom when he heard Diamond Williams, his girlfriend, screaming and slamming doors. He went to confront her, and she shoved him, causing a cut on his collarbone. Armond stated he followed her as she slammed doors and went outside to hit his car.

The verbal argument turned physical when a piece of Armond’s hair was pulled out. The person who reported the incident was driving by when he saw both of them in a physical altercation, where both parties fell to the ground. Officers spoke with Diamond, who claimed the argument started after she slammed a door. She stated Armond pushed her and caused her to hit her head to hit a wall.

Her face was noticeably swollen and bruised. He reportedly then strangled her for approximately five or six seconds. He followed her downstairs while screaming and hit her several times with a washcloth. She left the residence and went outside. He came out after her and pinned her onto the ground. She claimed she grabbed his hair in an attempt to get him to let her go.

Armond Love was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. He was later released on a $1,500 bond.
