Man catches second DUI after rear-ending vehicle on Ringgold Road

42-year-old Michael Hiller was charged with DUI, open container, and implied consent after he rear-ended a vehicle on Ringgold Road and admitted to officers that he drank two cocktails prior to driving.

On September 25th, MCSO Deputy Nemeth arrived at a crash on Ringgold Road near Fort Campbell Boulevard. Driver Michael Hiller crashed into the rear of a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway. Nemeth immediately smelled the scent of alcohol inside the vehicle. When questioned, he admitted to having two cocktails that day.

Hiller, while unsteady on his feet, agreed to perform field sobriety tests. He was said to have performed poorly and was informed of implied consent. Hiller refused to give a breathalyzer test or submit to a blood draw. A search of his vehicle yielded an open bottle of Fireball.

Michael Hiller was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, implied consent, and open container. His bond was set at $3,000.
