Man burgles Walmart for less than $50 in merchandise; found across the street

38-year-old Raymond Poindexter was charged with burglary after stealing $49.68 of merchandise from Walmart and was found at a nearby carwash.

On November 12th, Clarksville Police Officer Trystan Matthews responded to a theft of property – shoplifting at Walmart, 1680 Fort Campbell Boulevard. Before Officer Matthews arrived, he was told by loss prevention that Raymond Poindexter ran away from the store once he was caught stealing.

Poindexter was found at 1695 Fort Campbell Blvd at the American Car Wash and taken back to Walmart. Poindexter took $49.68 of merchandise from Walmart. Loss prevention claimed that Poindexter was told that he was banned from all Walmarts on November 29th, 2019. Poindexter was then taken into custody.

Raymond E Poindexter was arrested and charged with burglary. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
