Man admits to snorting and having heroin during traffic stop

29-year-old Tyrice Mcrae was charged with speeding and simple possession of heroin when he was pulled over for multiple traffic violations and admitted to officers that he had snorted heroin and had more on him.

On September 5th, MCSO Deputy Leblanc initiated a traffic stop on a Blue Nissan Altima for multiple traffic violations. Upon running Tyrice Mcrae through the NCIC, it was found that he had an active warrant in Montgomery County for traffic violations. While attempting to take him into custody and search him, Tyrice reportedly became very unstable on his feet, not fully coherent, and dizzy.

Tyrice admitted to Deputy Leblanc that he had snorted heroin approximately thirty minutes before the traffic stop. He also admitted to having more on him. Deputy Leblanc found 3.5 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl, which identified with the color associated with fentanyl upon field testing.

Tyrice Mcrae was arrested and charged with simple possession. His bond was set at $8,000.
