Intoxicated man stopped for doing 80 in a 45 mph zone; says he only had “2 or 3 beers”

24-year-old Dylan Farrier was charged with his first driving under the influence and speeding after speeding past a deputy and saying he had drunk less than an hour prior.

On November 28th, Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy Ignacio Rivera was traveling East on Dover Rd and saw a black SUV traveling west towards Deputy Rivera at a speed of 80 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Rivera initiated a traffic stop at the driveway of 553 Lorie Lane. When Deputy Rivera approached Dylan Farrier, the driver of the black SUV, he could smell alcohol coming from Farrier. Farrier also had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and slow reaction time.

Farrier told Deputy Rivera that he drank “2 or 3 beers,” and said that the last one he drank was about an hour beforehand. Farrier agreed to conduct some sobriety tests but did poorly on all the tests that he did, so he was determined to be too intoxicated to drive. Farrier agreed to get his blood drawn, which was done at Tennova Sango ER.

Dylan Farrier was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding. He has since been released on a $1,500 bond.
