Impostor charged with ID theft when pizza is ordered with a stolen credit card

38-year-old Sarah Grimes was charged with theft of property, identity theft, and illegal possession of credit card after she was using a stolen credit card to order $80 worth of Pizza Hut and had it delivered to her hotel room.

On August 17th, Officer J. Knoblock responded to a call for service at Country Inn & Suites at 3075 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Benjamin Cox called on behalf of his father losing his wallet. Donald Cox stated he lost his wallet near the Marathon gas station on Holiday Drive when he spilled a drink on himself and opened the car door. Donald believes when the door opened and he got out, his wallet fell out. Donald stated the call was made because shortly after he lost his wallet, a transaction of $79.90 for Pizza Hut came out of his account. He stated he did not authorize this transaction.

When Pizza Hut was contacted, they stated a delivery was made to Room 130 at Country Inn & Suites matching that price and card information. Officer Knoblock made contact with Scham Hoosier, Abbey Pimentel, and Sarah Grimes upon arrival at Room 130. Hoosier gave the officer consent to search the room. He found Donald’s wallet under the mattress. Inside of the wallet, there were six credit cards, seven various cards, a driver’s license, and a CDL. Pimentel told officers she saw Grimes with the wallet and also witnessed Grimes ordering food with one of the cards out of the wallet and was present when the pizza arrived. Donald stated the only missing property in the wallet was $140 cash.

Sarah Grimes was arrested and charged with theft of property, identity theft, and illegal possession of credit card, meth violation, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and simple possession. Her total bond was set at $45,000.
