Homeless woman admits to giving man an overdose with fentanyl-laced heroin

38-year-old Amber Rowlette was charged with possession of heroin and theft of property when police arrived at Plato’s Closet to find her in the passenger seat of a vehicle with a possibly overdosed man who was unconscious.

On July 28th, Clarksville Police Department (CPD) officers arrived to Plato’s Closet located at 116 Morris Road for a possible overdose. Inside the vehicle was an unconscious man with visible heroin and a syringe with the defendant, Amber Rowlette, in the passenger seat.

The man was transported to Tennova Medical Center. When the police searched through Rowlette’s belongings to find 13 grams of fentanyl-laced heroin as well as syringes, baggies, spoons, and a scale. After she was Mirandized she admitted to giving the man the fentanyl-laced heroin that caused his overdose. She also told the police that she has sold heroin in the past.

Amber Rowlette was arrested and charged with possession of schedule I drugs (heroin) and theft of property. Her bail was set at $37,500.
