Clarksville man fires wife’s gun thinking he’s being shot at, per report

37-year-old Antonio Ewing was charged with reckless endangerment after opening fire outside of his residence with his wife’s pistol. Further investigation revealed that Ewing had been drinking and the shooting was caused by his belief that someone was firing at him.

On June 24th, Officer Martin was dispatched to the intersection of Summer and Kraft Street in regards to a report of reckless endangerment. Upon arrival, law enforcement was directed to 48 Ladd Dr as the origin of the gunfire. Shell casings were discovered on the sidewalk close to the home, leading to the residence. Officers then made contact with Antonio Ewing, who explained his belief that someone had been shooting in his vicinity.

Ewing responded to this by obtaining a pistol belonging to his wife and firing a shot in the air. According to the affidavit, Ewing had been drinking prior to the incident. Officers were able to bring the weapon in as evidence. Ewing was then placed into custody for reckless endangerment.

Antonio Ewing was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment. His bond was set at $10,000.
